    Leveling Kit

I am thinking about putting a leveling kit on my GMC 2500. Who here has had experience with leveling kits? Thoughts/advice?

I put one on my 2014 F150 and went with 33" tires and I love the look. The ride did not change, but the mileage dropped but I have not gotten my speedometer calibrated so I do not really know what the true mileage is.
Never bought a truck for mileage so I would do it in a heartbeat again!

Very simple. If you plan to keep the truck past 70k miles, I always install a good set of front shocks at the same time. It's worth it in the long run.

What’s the benefit of installing a leveling kit?

I just put a new set of tires on my truck recently. Would a leveling kit look funny without upsizing tires? I just don’t like the dip in the nose.

Ps here’s a pic of my truck (the only one I have). Thoughts?

That is your choice. I love the looks of mine after the leveling kit and hated the nose dip. Some of the F150's and some of the new F250's and 350's look horrible like there is way to much weight in the nose and nothing in the rear. I know it is for mileage gains or whatever, but that look with the nose dipped has never appealed to me. Some of the new Fords diesels look horrible IMHO!

Accelerated wear on front end components

              Loss of fuel economy

"looks cool" <-- top reason to do it. Some people outgrow this, others do not.

Going on 65 and still like the looks. Heck I was running 36" tall tires before most knew what a 36" tall tire looked like or even existed. Never left my blood!

The 14/35/16.5 Gumbo Monster Mudders I had to mail order as no one in TX had them at the time. Put them on a F250 with no lift kit of body lift kit! did it on 2 trucks. Only lift I ever put on a truck was an old Suburban and put a 4" lift on. I use to be, "I see a mudhole, lets drive thru it", but I did outgrow that.
I even swapped a Chebbie 350 into a CJ5 Jeep to replace the old 4 banger that was in it!

I'm with ya there. I love big tires. I ran 38" TSL's for a long time, still have a set of 36" Irok tires on my Bronco.

I am at a point in my life though, where I will not put them on my daily driver, that I count on to get me back and forth to work. They are for toys. DD stays stock. I tow my toys.

There's not a "good" leveling kit out there. Best thing to is a 4" lift and turn down the torsion bars. You can get an inch or 1.5" by cranking the bars up and not being too stiff. What year is your truck?

You can check out cognito. They have a leveling kit but it's expensive. The new body style has a better front end. This is my 15 with 295/60R20

I’ve been happy with mine. Went with a 2.5” in the front because I read that less than 3” reduces the stress on it. Got an alignment done after, 33” tires and picked up a flashpaq off craigslist for the speedometer calibration.

I have a 2500 Duramax with 35s. Did a leveling kit and shocks. If you just want 1-2” for bigger tires then its fine. If you are wanting more do not tighten the torsion bars all the way you will hate the ride. Spend the money and lift the truck with a good lift kit if thats what you are after. 1-2” 33s and your good. The 35s rub a little in sharp turns thats why I say 33. If you need more info holler.
