Hunting w/ Go Pro mounted to Bow

How many of y'all use a go pro to video your hunt/shot? I have a few hunts scheduled next year an I am entertaining the thought of videoing the hunt.

what version of the go pro camera?
    what are the mounting options?
Do you leave it on from beginning to end?

I have ago pro hero 5 I think and I mount it to the stab. But there may be a better camera option out there. Go pro isn’t very good past 20-25 yards

I am not a pro but I use one for fun. I put it in a little case that has a clamp on it and attach it to my game camera stand. I have the go pro 3 and I have a remote that turns it on and off, and can record, stop recording from the remote. There is also the app but my phone never seems to cooperate.

Hit up skinny and see what he uses. He has some awesome pig killing videos

I use a go pro mounted on my head, make sure you turn off the red light that comes on when you record. I was fixing to bust a pig right at dusk and when I hit the button to record it saw that huge red blinking light. It snorted at me and was gone. Man that ruined my hunt.

I have an off brand. Takes great video. I connect one of those rechargeable power supplies to it that they sell to charge your phone with. Will power it up for a long time.

Same here. I have an off brand ( wildlife innovations I believe) and as far as video before and after the shot, they're great. During the shot I cant hold the bow still enough to get the shot. I started mounting mine on the tree next to me . It also comes with attachments so you can attach to your cap, tree stand etc... Works much better and has a remote.
