Opening weekend on the Colorado.. fall is here but temps aren’t

Riley and I went for opening weekend ( even though we are MLD it’s still the traditional opening). It was so warm we didn’t bother going hunting. Set up a new feeder for her and did some Ranch work. Went into Goldthwaite for the Chili lunch and festivities . Bring on some cold weather!!!

You didn't miss much Brandon. It's the worst opener I can ever remember. Nothing like heat and the moon to hinder movement.

I didn't figure we missed much. Our better deer usually don't show until Dec and later. This was as warm of opener I can remember though.

My son-in-laws said it was horrible as far as bucks. Baby bucks and a few does showed up.

I had a pretty good opener in Mullin. I have been watching about 7 different bucks since June. I had 2 show last night with several doe. My 11 took a pretty good one for his first buck. We did however miss the festivities in Goldthwaite. Next time.

Yes, rain please. Think we are at 22" for the year and well behind. Ponds are just a puddle and deer belly deep mud getting drinks. Had to replant because army worms got us.

Yeah you should make it. Grand time with good food and free beer.
