      That's false. Shoot them anywhere with anything and they'll spray pretty much every time. I ain't getting into a trapping debate because obviously a lot of people on this site are completely ignorant about it but if you want them to not spray inject them with acetone on the end of a kill stick. It puts them to sleep just like they were at the vets office.

      I know guys that drown them in stock tanks if they catch them. Any way you can kill a skunk is a way.

        I think I might welcome walking in behind a skunk just for the fact I won't have to worry about My scent lol don't ever wanna get sprayed though. EVER

            Was working cattle horse back in some thick brush and ran over one with the horse.
            That saddle stunk for ever. I had to ride in the truck bed. Burned my clothes, Boots and spur straps. Leather just seems to absorb the spray.

              I always thought that seeing a skunk on your way to the stand was good luck. At least it has been for me, anyway.
