    Followed a skunk in......

New experience for me this morning.!!! Saw a skunk by the gate when I got to the lease this morning and didn’t think much of it. Got dressed and started making the few hundred yard walk to the stand in the dark. Made the turn to come up the trail to my stand and smack dab in the middle of the trail was what I swear is the same juvenile skunk just kinda waddling up the trail Same direction as me..... To be honest I was unsure what to do... so just kinda followed him up. He honestly walked all the way past my stand and just kinda kept going into the woods... If you have never seen a skunk just walking they definitely do not get into any kind of hurry and to be honest I wasn’t going to be the one who tried to make him.... so here’s to an interesting start to a hunt... It has been a different year this season and haven’t had many opportunities to hunt so let’s see what happens.... SKUNKS are good luck RIGHT........???....!!!??? LOL...

Skunks are good as long as you don't smell like them after the encounter. It has been a weird year. Heck, I noticed persimmons still on trees not quite ready yesterday. IT'S NOVEMBER... There have been years past where the fruit was gone a week before archery opens. Hope your sit goes well.

Shoot one and will still spray. Best thing to do is just give enough space. Usually wander off on THEIR own good time. U get that cover scent on ya and it AIN'T comin off for bout 3 weeks.

Well, thanx to a skunk, I found one of me best stands I have ever hunted. Very few times did I hunt that stand, that I at least didn't see something.

I was leaving early in first rifle and came up on a big porcupine just waddling up the trail. He saw my light behind him and started to waddle faster which was just funnier to watch. He last about 100 yds then shot off next to a tree

Saw a skunk last night that I believe didn't have any white stripes. Wish I could see it again to confirm though. Had to get rid of one last week that was in our trash cans every night. And sprayed our dog.

I've been sprayed before. There's nothing good about a skunk except the fact that they eventually die.

A government trapper near Del Rio told me to remove one from a trap without it spraying, you shoot it with a 22 in the gut. It sucks up ad dies without spraying. I 've never tried it tho...seems quite cruel.....not that trapping itself isn't cruel....
