May get my limit before I get to the lease

Gonna leave about 3:30 from Williamson county towards Kerrville. Figure, with a full moon, & rut going on I should limit out by the time I get to the lease. Grill guard should stop much of the damage.

Seriously folks... watch out in the morning. Bucks will be running all over the place.

Lotta deer & lotta folks on the road. bad combo.

Had a buck run out in front of me in Livingston. Had to hit brakes but no lock up.

Got to Menard about 45 minutes ago, we dodged deer all the way from Llano...

I'm an engineer for the railroad and I already tagged out 3 different times in the last two weeks with my train! Two of them were pretty nice bucks from what I could tell at 55 mph. Both bucks were hit between Caldwell and Chriesman. I hate to see it happen but "buzzards gotta eat, same as worms!"

Hwy 16 from Llano to Fredericksburg is the worst gauntlet I ever have to drive. Once counted 17 dead dear on the side of the road in that one little stretch. I hate driving that stretch in the dark

Last weekend between Mason and Junction, I saw 5 dead whitetail in one little 50 yard stretch of road. Lots more all along the way. It's that time of year for sure.

I try not to drive in the evening or night when heading to Menard for THAT reason. We have taken out a few Ranchhands over the years.

Mason to London is the worst stretch I have been through.

I have seen the damage a train can do to much larger things, I imagine a dear is tuned into a million little pieces!

This morning we drove my mother-in-law back to DFW airport. Left here at 3:55am and got back around 6:30am. Not one deer sighting. I was hoping to see some at least on the back roads around here. I think they must be sleeping in today .

Not as bad as y'all got in the hill country but I see more than my share riding the Harley to work at 04:30. Scary.
