Looking great Heath! You are living the good life!

Man today was a lot. We knocked off a lot of the project list but busted our butt doing it. Tomorrow we can put this place back together and get it looking right. We only had to make two trips to town!

Karla was money on paint today.

We raised our bed to get the mattress / sheets away from the electrical plugs. I haven’t liked that so we fixed it. Of course I was four cinder blocks short and we couldn’t find one in Graham this evening so we had to come up with something.

              Looking good!

You should be ok in this particular application, but blocks have very little strength when they’re turned on their side like that. Almost 10x less than if they were rotated 90 degrees in fact. Just a little FYI in case you ever use them to support a structure or something.

Thanks for the that info. The weight is on 9 different spots so hopefully it works.

It was a long couple of days but we knocked off the to-do list. Now the inside of the cabin is 98% done so I can start on some outside projects.

It’s also time to turn attention to the dove plot.

Heath what did you spray the inside with? Any insulation? How does it handle hot and cold temps?

It is a spray foam insulation. I had it done when I bought it form XCailber in Graham. They did the spray foam, AC's, and electrical (with my design). It does really well with the two AC / Heat units. It does not take long to cool down or heat up. When you add in a fan, it really helps push the cool air around. We wanted to maintain the container look on the wall instead of doing paneling or wood. This also saved us 6-8" inches of space too.

We added an air purifier and I think it makes a difference. The air seems really "crisp" inside with it.

Ok was curious. We are doing 2" framing and will insulate with either finer glass or rigid foam insulation. We are loosing about 5" of space but with two of them I didn't think it a big deal. We have two. One will be one big open area consisting of kitchen and living and the other is brokeninto 3 rooms, 2 bedrooms with a full restroom in the middle.

Yours really turned out well! Great use of space

It really feels spacious. I was worried it would feel to small but the high ceilings really help out. I wanted to maximize how many people I could sleep (3 Queen beds and a futon) and still make it feel functional if it was just us there.

I’m having an 18’x18’ porch put on the front hopefully next week.
