Back in the summer I fulfilled one of my goals by buying some land. We bought 81 acres on the Young / Throckmorton County line. Since then it has been non stop work trying to get the place ready for this weekend. We took a piece of raw land with nothing setup and have turned into a really cool place. I haven’t even had the opportunity to bow hunt as my focus was getting the place ready for this weekend for our family.

In the morning, we will be making our first hunt on our place trying to get my wife her first deer. My parents will be in camp and I will get to sit in the stand with my dad for the first time in 25 years. My dad gave up his own hunting opportunities to support me and my brother in sports. He helped me out a ton getting this place up and running and I couldn’t have done it without him. I had a huge smile on my face when I rolled into the gate late this evening.

I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am for the morning’s hunt. Let’s get this party started!

Two small bucks. It was cold and wet! Heading to Breckinridge to meet my parents for dinner since it’s to nasty to eat at ranch. They are driving up to hang out for a few days.
