We have been getting picks of better deer on our place than any year I can remember. Please take a look and let me know what you think. I have never really been into ageing and or scoring deer (mostly due to the lack of quality on our place). The first two pics are of my buck I took on 19 Oct (best deer I have harvested to date), the next three are from yesterday. Thanks in advance.

I botched the first one it is at the taxidermist, who I didn't ask to age him. I am waiting on the measurements from him. I didn't think anything about it until my dad asked. It is not something I have ever attempted before, and I need to do some research on how to do it properly. Thank again.

Live shots is a mature deer... Look at his jaw line and brisket/neck, also the forehead is mature... that to me means at least 5 1/2... He'll sniff 40's Good beams, good tines (except that one G4, but the brows make up for that). good width, probably 18-19, and decent mass... If you think he'd be safe, I'd let him go at least another year... he'd likely gain some mass and maybe character as well as increase inches in beams/points and such. That's a fine specimen of a deer sir!
The dead one is a hoss in his own right too! Congratulations on a fine buck. He'll look great on the wall or on a pedestal!
