Calling in Hogs

Had a quiet still morning last year at the ranch. Hogs were in the brush and not presenting a shot. I pulled up a YouTube video of a boar raising absolute hell. I cranked up the volume on my IPhone and played the video. Hogs game out of the woodwork. Three boars raced towards the tripod.
Had a bunch one night in the green field by camp. Took a buddy out to the edge of the pasture and I played the video. a 200lb boar broke away from the group and ran to within 40 yds of us.

Good info. I tried the horn device for hogs - no good. I'm looking to set up a speaker under my stand during a full moon and draw them in.

Calling in Hogs

Just once. But the pigs were already in the field and I coulda shot them there if the grass wasn’t so tall. I hit the call and they came running in out of the grass, on high alert. I was able to blast one before they blew outta there. Never really tried calling them in since then. The way I see it, if they can hear the call, they are already headed your way...and I’d rather them not be on high alert when I start shooting. I’ve killed more of them in one set when they don’t really have a clue what is going on.
