It started because deer hunters were tired of getting back from the blind at 8 o'clock and not having sufficient time to get good steak cooking coals ready, and still have proper whiskey drinking time before bed.
I just wish they'd do it a week sooner.
Honestly, I hate standard time...I wish they'd leave it how it is now.
Personally, I think it's kind of cool that we humans have come up with a weird way to extend out time outside. It may have been originally developed and passed for energy savings but anything that gets people outside more is a good thing in my book.
I really like it because I'm not a morning person and would not get up early to enjoy more sunshine, but it is nice to have the extra time after work for 8 months.
Winter just sucks, no matter how I look like it, so there's not much that can be done anyway.
I leave my timers on regular/real time all year long. Only time I really mess with them is in the Spring when i put the night feed time in the dark for the pigs.
