I know, as my TBH son and many of you also say.."No pic, didn't happen!" But the story is worth telling....
First time I've sat in my stand this fall to see what was coming in before next weekend (rifle only, dam shoulders.) Had 3 does, spike and this pic of a nice 8 point come in Friday night. Forgot my good camera, so this pic was at a 155 yards with my cell magnified all the way. He is a shooter for our area, big body and decent mass, spread (thru my binos anyway.)
Here's what got my blood PUMPING: Around 645pm, I was about to get down and took one last look behind my 8' blind. The setting sun was still bright and there is a game trail coming behind my stand from a dried out pond about a 100 yards away. This is VERY thick brush country and there he was...the biggest 8 point I have ever seen at our lease. He was not more than 30 feet from my stand, but his interest in my Ranger, parked beside the blind was something. He never once looked up, just stood there and looked at the UTV. His G2's were thick, tall and the dog catchers looked at least 5+- long. Great mass, dark and wide. He has to be 20" +-, which is VERY good for our lease.
I tried several pics with the glare, none were good....BUT, I hope he comes back and I'll have the window OPEN and if nothing else, will get a pic to PROVE he's there...take that my GS son!
