Can anyone tell me how the hunting area around Doss Texas is? Is there any exotics in the area? Thank you appreciate any information.

Yes. Axis will be around there. Have heard of it being a good area. -
Depends on which direction your lease it. There can be some really good Hill Country bucks around Doss. There are a few aoudads in the rougher hills on larger ranches to the west of town. Never seen any axis but have heard they are in limited numbers.Comment

We’ve hunted north of Doss for forever. There’s a good number of deer but they don’t get real big. Mature bucks seem to top out at 120-130”. Several years ago we saw some axis 3 times in the same season, but haven’t seen them since. Pigs are hit and miss.Comment

I’ve hunted north of Doss (783) since the early 70’s and agree with the above. There have been occasional exotics roam through but VERY rare. Pigs are pretty consistent these days.Originally posted by Colton View PostComment

I have been out that area for a while and never seen any exotics, except some emus a few years ago. Want to say axis is more south of Fberg.Comment

I hunt on my buddy's place out there. Always see deer and pigs. Also, my buddy's dad is looking for someone to lease the place. Do you mind me asking where it is? We hunt close to Anderegg Way.Comment

A couple buddies of mine have been looking for a place in Doss. Wish I could help locate them one but they are few and far in between. Ours in on Salt Branch Loop. We have seen blackbuck and axis on the way in just none on our new place.Comment
