    Mechanical Broadheads in Freezing Weather

I will be hunting in weather ranging from 0-20 degrees here soon. I am trying to decide between shooting a mechanical BH or going with a fixed. Have any of you ever heard of, or had experience with, mechanical broadheads not deploying properly because of sub-freezing temps?

Just my thought, if your concerned about that why not just shoot fixed to ease your mind? Slick tricks

I wouldn't expect below freezing temps to effect them but precipitation and freezing temps might.

I hear ya. And yes, if I go with fixed they will be Slick Trick Magnums. I only ask because I have shot two deer recently with mechanicals/hybrids (Rage Extreme & Bloodsport Gravediggers) and both were so effective that the deer dropped within 30 yards. I have never taken a deer with a Slick Trick but I can’t help but think that less can go wrong as long as I make a good shot.

As with most BH questions/threads, I may be overthinking it. Just can’t let a BH malfunction kill a trip like this.

I haven't had any trouble with mechanicals in freezing panhandle weather.
