I’ve seen Bucks respond to tinks, but I rarely use it anymore. I do however use evercalm deer herd scent. I put it on my boots and a couple trees around where I set up. It has made a noticeable difference for the better.

I used Tinks last Thursday and a shooter buck walked right past it and never gave it a a look and took off before I could stop him. I threw the bottle of tinks away. I've rattled before but never called anything up. Might try it this weekend for the gun opener if I'm having no luckComment

I never rattle any more. I used to when I first started hunting alot because I saw everyone on tv doing it.
Out of the 50+ times I've tried I've probably had 2-3 bucks come in, and they were spikes or little 4-pointers looking to fight. Never a mature buck.
I do grunt though but only once I see a deer and only if he's walking away or changing direction or would somehow not make it into my shooting lane. I only grunt once.. possibly twice tops.. Any more than that and he'll have you pinpointed. I get a laugh every time I watch tv and someone is going to town on a grunt tubeComment
