Had plans to go hunting Thursday afternoon, today, and tomorrow. I get my work business done yesterday, leave work to run a few errands, load up and head of town. I'd previously ordered some new camo, well, just because. Tracking notice says camo is on truck for delivery yesterday. I get to running a little late, so i decide to wait on the UPS guy. Find the UPS guy, no package. Yes, it's supposed to be on the truck, but it's not on the truck. Oh well. Up 287 we go headed to Vernon. About half way there i notice the truck is discharging volts. Crap. Stop to get gas. Truck barely restarts. I'm closer to where i'm going than home, so onward i go. Just about get to the lease, and nearly hit one of one of the farmers angus cattle that he lets roam free. Good times. Get to camp. Try to restart the rig, deader than a door nail. Luckily i have a charger and electricity. Set the charger to recharge the battery overnight. In comes the cold front. With every single degree in temperature drop, the wind speed seems to increase by 1.5 knots. Blinding sand storm in the middle of night. I didn't even bother taking anything out of the truck. Slept in the trailer. Got up, started truck and headed back to Ft. Worth. Oh well...
There's bigger problems in the world. Good times...
