European mount for a doe?

I did a euro mount of my first trad deer, which happened to be a doe.

My plan is to do something like this with everyone's first. First bow kill, first rifle kill, first buck....I don't care. I just want it to be full of memories.

I sent an 8pt euro to a guy in San Antonio a few years ago.He was asking for a doe skull.It was for a lady friend of his' art class...She was gonna display it,dissect it,or something.That's when I found out how much it was to ship a euro buck!lol,Sure hope he was rewarded

I think it's a great idea as you are trying to bring your wife into the sport, and her efforts should be recognized. I think Hix did a nice job with his daughter's doe, and I bet she'll remember that hunt for the rest of her days. One thing I've seen done that doesn't take a lot of work, and makes a nice display is saving the tail from the deer. It doesn't take much effort during the skinning - the best way I've found to do it is to take two steel rods (screwdrivers or the shafts of a pair of socket wrenches work fine) and place the tail between them. Then jerk down hard and fast on the tail and you'll get the tail without any bones or tearing to trim away from the hide. Once it is dried and cured, the tail makes a nice display on a frame with a photo, the tag, and the fired casing or the broadhead used to kill it.

I have Whitetail and Axis buck euros, but also did two coyote euros and regret not doing s hog euro. It's definitely on my list. I just started keeping trophies last year smh another regret. Do that doe euro!

I have done several doe heads for clients in the past. Most was because it was a kids first deer and few just because they wanted one.

Never even heard of mounting a doe, but after reading this, it is kind cool. It always amazes me how people only want to mount big stuff. While I understand that, there's also something really cool about a progression of trophies that show a hunters hunting life, and maturity as a hunter.

I think this is a actually kind of cool, esp for younger hunters harvesting their first deer.
