I had a similar claim where our AC overflow became clogged and the condensation leaked out into our hallway. The areas damaged were the hallway and hall closet only. However, since the hallway led to our living room and kitchen, but did not include a doorway the insurance company covered the replacement of all the flooring in the hall, livingroom, and kitchen (was all the same flooring). They did state that coverage would stop at a doorway, which was fine in our case since none of the adjoining rooms with doors sustained floor damage. They did not consider the opening from the living room to the hallway a transition which is why it was covered as well.
