    peeing on scrapes

Does this work? I have always used artificial stuff but my uncle told me to just start pissing on the scrapes every time i hunt.

    Yea it does some times.

I peed about 50 yards from my bow blind one morning and watched a buck scape where I had peed and pee on top of it.

    True story.

This has been discussed before, and several mentioned that they did it and it worked. Personally I would hesitate doing so myself. I don't think many deer have pee that smells like coffee.

Do you honestly think a deer knows what coffee is? I have done it a LOT over the years and as far as the deer is concerned, some other "buck" is coming in on his territory. Deer in Texas don't know what an apple is either, so quit buying the apple smelling corn.....

I did it, then came back the next day and the scrape had been tore up, peed in and pooped next to!

Bill did warn me not to hunt over his scrape...

Do it all the time and leave trail cam for evidence. Couple pics so far this year of 1-3 yr olds freshening up after me.

I am also convinced that human urine does not scare deer. On several occasions I've peed out of a tree stand and had deer walk right up and sniff it and remain un-alarmed

I made a mock scrape and peed in it two weeks ago. I put a camera up and a buck was using it that night

I 've never tried a mock scrape. But I have peed out the back of blinds many times with deer 20-30 yards away at the feeder and they could care less.

I do it all the time. Always get reworked. I always pee by or out of my stand too. There is a good article I'll try to find that shows that withing a couple hours all urine breaks down when exposed to air and there isn't any difference in any of it.

I've had 2 biologists tell me that after a few minutes all pee smells the same and a deer can't tell the difference between coyote pee, deer pee and human pee. Over the years I've had days where I just couldn't hold a pee and didn't have a bottle to pee in, so I slipped out and pee'd behind the blind. I've never felt like I got busted because of it. I've pee'd in scrapes and had the same results as others who've posted. I think all the paranoia over the smell of urine has taken scent control too far.
