    Bow for 7 year old??

I need some help, my boys birthday is coming up and he wants a bow in a bad way. And I don't blame him. He held the Bear Cruzer Lite in Cabelas the other day, but since then I've been looking at some others online that have a little more on the top end of draw weight. The Cruzer Lite only goes up to 45, while some others go higher.

Has anybody bought or had their kid hold a Cruzer G2, and would this one be good for a 7 year old? It's a little heavier with the RTH package than the Lite (like 1/2 a pound), and 2" longer, but it seems he could use it longer. I know that Diamond makes one too, I just wanted to hear what you guys thought and have experience with.

    Thanks for the help.

I got my son a diamond infinite edge for his 9th birthday and he killed 2 deer, 2 hogs, raccoons and whatever else he felt like shooting before he turned 10. He is 11 now and still has plenty of room to grow into it.

For what it's worth, I bought the Bear Cruzer Lite, and glad I did because it fits him really well. He's starting out pulling about 20 pounds, and the bow shop got it all fixed up just for him. He loves it, but I think if the bow were even just a little heavier it would be harder for him to hold it. Oh, the sight that comes with the ready-to-hunt package on the Cruzer lite is not good, it's all plastic, and he's knocked it off twice in 3 days. I'm getting an aluminum one today.

My son has been shooting the Mission Hype DT for a couple years now. Great bow with tons of adjustability. He can shoot it the rest of his life (unless he maxes out the 30" draw.) I would not hesitate to buy another.

I kinda hate to say this, but...

There are so many good bows for young people these days you really need to let him shoot them and see which one he likes best. I know it kind of ruins the surprise of the birthday gift but it will be best for him.

When it was time for Gage's first real bow, we went down to the pro shop and he shot them all, he picked the Hoyt Ignite (now the Hoyt Klash). His bow, not what dad wanted him to get, gives them some ownership and skin in the game. I did it as an early Christmas present, in November, so he could hunt in January.
