    Force Fetch

Anyone around the college station area know how to force fetch a dog? Ive got a 7 month old lab that is ready for it. I've heard the owner doesn't need to do it so I am looking for someone who would do it for me locally. Willing to pay but no idea what a starting price would be. Dog has been through basic obedience training and has been steadied.

Never got mine done. Wish I had. She’s pretty solid as she is now though. Wonder if a 3 yr old dog is too old for force fetch.

Check for a trainer in your area. I think Bryan/CS has a Retriver club. A bunch of the trainers are over here in Palestine for Master Nationals Retriver Champioships. I went out this morning and saw some awesome dogs work! Coach

Dog must have adult teeth first. And I've forced several of my dogs as well as others with no problem. Just don't start or try it unless you can finish it

Check out my buddy Wade Cashion at Texas Duck Dogs. He has a Facebook page and is an excellent trainer.

Several ways to force fetch on youtube. Some soft some hard. I got a six year old male that never was forced, returns every bird to hand.

My last lab was a natural. A true specimen at work. My now 3 year old lab is an unbelievable athlete but has no desire to retrieve for any duration. I don't have the time to hunt with him or work him so, not a huge deal to me now. Great dog though.

Not that hard to do at all.

Rick corrola is who is training my lab right now. He is down OSR almost to Wheelock so not far from you. PM sent with his number. Super nice guy and he has already force fetched mine and she is doing great.

Both my labs were naturals. The only thing I had to do to stop Booger from tenderizing the birds was freeze pigeons and wrap barbed wire around them. Only took a few retrieves to stop the chomping. My lil Annie dog would bring them in alive and release to hand from the very start.

Rick knows his stuff! His dogs are great. I used to train with him at his house when I was in the retriever club and lived in college station.

He is awesome. I just wish I could leave my dog there for longer but just can't swing it right now. Will get her back in November after 3.5 months. But watching his dogs and a dog he has been working for a while is awesome. Would high,y recommend him!

I trained my lab at about that age and it had no negative impact to either of us. Tied up to fence post, used bumper at first, pinch ear trick. He will pick up nearly anything. Good thing about doing it yourself is you can keep same training going as needed.
Like whoever said, make sure to finish.

Next, teach to softly grab beer can, open cooler and then combine those.
