When I was a kid in the 50's....
I spent a lot of time out that way.....(uncle in the oil business)
And almost every kid my age, from Midland, Odessa, Lamesa, Andrews,
had that little dark spot on their front teeth....

At about 115 grains of hardness just on the cacl, that would take one heck of a water softener and would seriously burn through the salt.

Best solution would be a whole home RO.

Pre-filter for large solids, RO system that feeds into holding tank, pump out of tank through a carbon/kdc/softener (mostly for taste and to protect pipes) and then into home.

get an estimate for Life Source, lifesourcewater.com in addition to the water softener/filters. No salt, no maintenance. Best decision we made.
