I was talking to my friend Daniel Sulivan last night. He wrapped up a study of Eastern Turkeys earlier this summer. He made The comment that he was receiving lots of reports of Easterns in Tyler County. I went on to say that it's a shame Texas Parks and Wildlife did not have some kind of reporting mechanism so biologists could monitor what's being seen on game cameras. So I'm taking it upon myself to put it out here, we would love to see and hear what you all are seeing Turkey-wise in East Texas.

Parks & Wildlife does send out surveys of whats been seen in and near areas where there have been releases. Most biologist I talk to always encourage us to report sightings to our local biologist as a way to tabs on birds and their movement, which is really one of the only ways as populations increase and move into different areas.
Some sort of log where people can go and report sightings may not be a bad idea though, as if more people was aware of a place to report sightings, there would be a lot more reports.
Of course the info that's reported couldn't be public knowledge as they are always trying to protect the birds, as Jed Jr and his cousins would likely try and poach the birds for a Thanksgiving supper if certain locations were made public..
