    Lake Fork Fishing Advice

I am looking to get my boys on Pines to do some fishing the weekend of the 21st.

Wanting to drop a couple trot lines in the water as well as Bass and Crappie fish. We have a 16ft Flat bottom and would like to bring the Camper.

Where would be the best location to camp/fish that keeps us from having to cross any big water in case the wind picks up?

I want them to have a good time and catch a few fish.

    Any help/advice is greatly appreciated!

Just a heads up but that may not be the best weekend for a leisure trip. I'm 99% sure that's the weekend of the Bass Champs Big Bass tourney so that place is gonna be extremely crowded 10/21 - 10/22. Think around 1,000-1,500 boats entered last year. If you don't mind the crowds though, it's a good time. Hourly Payouts.

FMjag64 - Thanks for the heads up! We may want to avoid Fork if that is the case.

May look at Pines or Sandlin.

Yes that is the weekend of the Berkley Big Bass. You don't want to be anywhere near that lake on that weekend if you are trying to relax.

Toss range cubes out near any tree in pines and get to catching I imagine. There's gonna be crappie on the trees too but don't sit in one spot very long. Sandlin bridge should have crappie on it now too as well as the new piles TPWD put in LOP.

No ideal where to camp but....
If you put in at the Big Oaks ramp and go straight south into the timber around 15' of water. dump a 5 gallon bucket of range cubes out you will catch all the channel cats you want.
              pretty much non stop

They're all over. You can get the coordinates online. They sunk 40 I think! I haven't been to pines in almost 2 months! I'm dying to get back over there and boat flip some 2 pound slabs! But for catching do just what Buff said! Kids will love that and your gonna be busy baiting hooks and taking catfish off!!
