Like said Mitch, sounds like a belt issue. I have the same year model & when my belt gets a little stretched it will do that. Do you feel like a clunk or bump when the bike is doing that. Usually a sign of the belt catching between slips.

Sounds like it might be air to me also. Like said above make sure no rat nest or obstructing in air intake and clean or new air filter.
Just thinking out loud wouldn't belt slippage cause the engine to over rev and not go. Lack of fuel cause the engine to fall on its face when you hit the go pedal.Last edited by mchildress; 10-11-2017, 10:54 AM.

our '07 does the same thing. I was told it was the fuel pump then told the only way to fix it was REPLACE the tank/pump, etc. Of course, this was the Polaris dealer in Granbury and they only quoted $900 to do it. So..screw that..we have it at the lease, no hills to speak of and if there are we get a running start, lol! Personally, I think it's the filter which is located inside the tank. Oh well, run her until she gives up then spend the dang $$.

Just Google the auto part reference cross over. If I remember right it’s between $50-$100 bucks and is purchased at your local auto parts or eBay online.
The dealer replaced my original one under warranty, I replaced that one when it failed myself.
