Brain Trust: Need A Deep Sea Fishing Guide In Cabo

    Hey ya'll,

So, my wife and I are taking a trip with the rest of my family down to Cabo San Lucas the 3rd through the 10th. We were thinking it would be fun to go deep sea fishing while we were there.

Does anyone know a good deep sea fishing guide down there?

    Thanks ya'll!

    Merry Christmas!!

I don't have any info but can your wife call mine or how big is your suitcase??

My wife and I spent our Honeymoon 17 miles off the shore of Texas, but I have been wanting to go to Cabo for quite a while!! Have fun and Merry Christmas to you!!

I was just there in October. My suggestion is to contact Hotel Punta Colorado on the sea of Cortez about 35 minutes from Cabo the phone number is (877) 777- TUNA. We had a blast on tuna, wahoo, rooster fish and dorado!

Theres not many things cooler than clearing the arch at the harbor mouth during sunrise...heres a picture I took last spring...

I tried a smaller outfitter I was referred to then and really couldn't recommend them.

I've used Pisces in the past and was pleased. It really comes down to the individual crew...some definitely work harder than others, and having at least one crew member that can speak english is a real plus.

January is pretty spotty in Cabo...what marlin action you get will probably be small stripes, and they will probably be on the bottom...hope you and your wife aren't prone to sea sickness...

I don't get seasick (knock on wood) but every Christmas/New Year trip I've taken someone got queasy because the drifting, rolling, and bobbing with the diesel fumes is harder to take than just trolling with a rhythmic motion and getting a good breeze in your face like they do in the summer...

            Montana De Baja

I beleive this is the one store I visited when I was down there. They are from San Francisco, and big fans of Joe Montania. The owner makes lures and his wife runs the charter business. They seemed like reputable people and I would use them if I ever go back.

            Good luck and great fishing.

Heck, I don't know the name of the outfit I used last year but heck all of them were on fish and tended to have almost the same pricing. I just talked to the driver we had and he got me in touch with a captain that was NOT tied to our hotel. Have fun and get ready for some great action!

Book the trip when you get there and dont go through a service online. You will get better pricing on the dock.

Just don't hold it against your outfitter (or Cabo) if you don't get on a lot of fish. January is probably their toughest month.
