    Lease access question

Im on a lease in east texas that we have to go though another lease each way in. We basically have 2 sides of our lease with a creek and a pipeline separating them. Now the lease I drive through changed the locks from combination locks to regular without giving us a key. Im the newest member of my lease and been on 6 years so nothing new has changed. Do we have a leg to stand on trying to get a key? The guy said they voted to keep their gate locked without us.

Strange they would do thay out of the blue... If there's no other way into your property, there has to be a right of way somewhere... more info needed

I could drive to our camp and use a sxs or 4 wheeler to go down the pipeline and across the creek to get to my side.

You need to talk to your landowner

Assuming the same owner owns both sides of your lease and the pass-through is a valid easement of some type, your landowner would be the one with standing to enforce access rights to both sides. It's possible he designated a member(s) of your lease as his agent for this purpose in your lease contract, or that he could designate an agent now if he hasn't done so already. This may require a look at the terms of the recorded (hopefully) easement itself.

Both are timber company leases. Idk if they would get involved honestly.

Sounds to me like you have access to your lease without having to go through the other lease.

It is just easier for you to use there road.

If same timber company owned it, cut the chain and add a lock. No need for an easement if same company ownes it.

I'm on a small lease call 9 gun. Their lease used to be type 2 then I guess the timber company started leasing theirs about 10 years ago or so
