    .......any other suggestions on how to do battle with these before daylight tomorrow morning?

    thats a good one. I have got several hornet nets over the years. I have four hanging in my reloading room. Always a good conversation piece.

          I'd prefer to, but it's too close to one of the stands for comfort. Sure wish it was colder in the morning.............

                    Be careful and don’t take them lightly. Some colonies can be extremely aggressive since the introduction of the Africanized bees to Texas. If they ever get after you the best thing to do is run and don’t stop until you’re in a vehicle.

                        Looks like you took picture from stand

                        If they are not bothering you I would not bother them

                        Wait until a good frost, slip a trash bag around it, tie it up real good and don't open for a year

                          This is what I would do, except maybe cut off the branch once you get them wrapped in a plastic bag.
