I hate learning the hard way

Cutting my bear hunt short tmw. Haven't had any activity except constant vehicle traffic nearby, and the wind will be at my back the rest of the week. Not to mention rain is moving in.

Learned some good stuff on this first attempt. Got the right stand, got the right bait strategy. Shoulda had more than one stand set up for wind, and I need to do better about setting up in cover. I need to be much much deeper in the woods. I also went overkill on bait and probably coulda been just as effective cheaper. Still had fun with my kids raiding the specials at the bakery and thinking of all kinds of things to throw in the barrels.

I think the logging company may have also been working this past week. I talked to several guys who were going home yesterday and this morning because the logging activity had thrown their bait and/or feeder activity off. That's another reason to go way back where none of that will matter.

Sucks, but I'm not going to waste vacation days that I can spend hunting later when the writing for this hunt is on the wall.

Well sometimes the hard way is the only way it really connects. Next year
You'll have a better plan because of it.

Yep! Takes a few years sometimes. Next year I'll be better, and better again the following year.

Get one before the acorns start to fall. Once natural food sources are available, they will even pull off doughnuts and skittles.
