What went wrong for you this weekend?

Saturday AM no deer. PM, neighbor across the fence held target practice from 6:10 'til 7:40. The one deer I saw walked up to the fence about 35 yds away cross-wind, put her nose in the air and sniffed, then turned and walked away.

Skeeters tried to kill me and almost got away with my Thermacell.

I didn't get to go! Had a 10 year reunion... Hope to make up for it this weekend!

Worked every morning. tryed to get out for one evening hunt, walking in seen somthing moving through the leafs coming towards me, it was a jumbo copper head!!!! killed it turned around and decided not to hunt that day and for that matter not to hunt that ground blind either that was 5 yards away!

Just the skeeters and no deer big enough.
Good weekend other than that.

My dad's feeder mechanism wasn't working and had no idea till I got in to hunt opening morning (it was working fine two weeks ago when we were last there).

Forgot the cushion for my tripod Saturday evening and my butt hurt like I'd been prison raped by the end of the hunt.

Realized I have a ton of hogs I need to deal with.

Deer have disappeared from my prized hand corn spot.

Don't have a single setup for a SE wind.

Doesn't matter, my target must think I'm jshouse and he left a week before season started and hasn't been back. Came in every night for the month prior.

Worked but did help a friend get a 12 point he shot when he invited us over for dinner lol. At least I got to see a deer.

Sat 7:57am. There are 4 legal bucks around my feeder. Daughter took a shot at a nice 8 pt shooter at 17 yds. Deer doesn't even flinch. She misses high.

Sat. 7:15pm. 2 shooter bucks at the feeder. One of them is a monster 10 pt. Just beautiful. He is broadside at 19 yds. Daughter takes the shot. We get a hit that looks good at first glance Buck turns a runs away and I notice minimal arrow penetration. We look for blood and find none. Decide to pull out and come back in the morning as I am not prepared to track at night. Morning comes. Can't find blood or the arrow. Review of video with my new found friend at Texas Tracking Dog reveals a high hit in the backstrap. Went home extremely disappointed and had a beer.

What went wrong for you this weekend?

For me:

4 wheeler broke down

Borrowed a buddies 4 wheeler, it broke down

A pack rat chewed up an ABS wire on my truck

1 trail camera didn't work

Had a bad sd card in my video camera

Lost my phone for about an hour

Found a tick attached to the middle of my back that I couldn't reach

Didn't kill anything.

A lot of bad, but it was great to be in the woods again.

Deer didn't cooperate
Cable broke on winch up last night as I lowered it to top it off before I left.
