It's really simple. However you like.

You can do feed free choice as long as you like and shut it whenever you wish.

You can feed up to six times a day.

You can feed free choice during the daylight and shut it at night.

During the season. I have it set to stay open for 15 mins during morning and afternoon feedings.

I needed to get a timed feeder out in a pinch this spring and went with an HB 1000 timed release. I had issues with "the timer" starting out but since then the deer seem to love eating out of the trough design. I sat in the blind scouting a couple weeks ago and had 14 bucks come in at the same time. I have said this a million times before but I will definitely have a hammer unit on a big feeder one day.
