    Bobcat question

I have a couple of Bobcats mounted in my house that I have shot over the last few years and had a question regarding the fur on their ears.

One has fur that comes to a point on the end of its ears that is about 1 1/2" long and the other one does not. Why is that, is one older?

PICS WILL HELP BUT It Could Have Alot To Do With The Taxidermist!! If The Ears Are Not Done Right The Hair Patterns Wont Be In The Right Place And Thus Cause The Hair To Look Funny Or Different! The Hair Could Have Slippewd Due To The Fur Spoiling And The Hair Falling Out.

No, It is not the Taxidermist. When I shot them they looked different on the ears. The taxi did a great job. One of them has tips basically coming of the ears and the other does not. I have seen probably ten bobcats in the wild the last three years and not one has the tips like one of mine does.

See what I am talking about... That is exactly how the ears looked when I shot it. Actually that is how I spotted it walking through the tall grass. Sorry about the poor picture.

Bobcats typically do have the "tufts" of hair coming off their ears. I've shot 6, and all of them have had it.........may have just been younger cats.

LOL I dont want to get anyone mad at me but look at that cats eyes! Do you see what I mean about taxidermists that are BAD at their job. Granted he likes his mount but if you look at the anatomy of a bobcat and at reference pictures you will never see a CROSSEYED bobcat! Sorry to pick on your mount but my BIGGEST pet peve is BAD TAXIDERMY WORK!!

                      Mag,
It does not look like that in person...I think it is the camera, maybe the flash or something. There is no way I would have paid for it if it was cross eyed.
