Identity Theft Help

My son in college had someone go through his garage (he forgot to shut the door) and stole a bag containing some bank statements, school statements, and an insurance card out of his truck. We have called the bank, school, insurance company and in the process of calling the 3 major credit agencies to report it. Is there anything we are missing and what else can we do to protect him?

He had other valuables in his garage and pickup that they didn't touch. Only took important paperwork.

I told him walk the ally and check dumpsters because maybe they just wanted the bag. I don't understand if thats all they wanted why they would take his insurance card out of the visor of his truck.

Dave Ramsey recommends an insurance policy thru Zander---just figure they are going to get it or already have it (personal info) so insure yourself.
