Who has built a boat ramp using River Rock or landscape rock?

Would like to build one at the ranch on our bigger lake. Looking for ideas and suggestions

Have you considered pouring a slab on the ground and shoving it in the water with a dozer.

I don't have a Dozer. Only going to using it for light aluminum boats like the smaller trackers

With the weight of an aluminum boat I would think the River Rock would make a good ramp. I saw a ramp on Cypress Springs that was made with sacks of concrete. They had retainer walls built with the bags and that transitioned into the ramp. Actually looked pretty good.

That's actually a hell of an idea.

Doing some rough calculations . I think I can put a 20 ft boat ramp 8ft wide for less than $500.

I'm thinking you and I read the question differently.

We use GEOBLOCK for small watercraft ramps at work. Amazing stuff and easy to install.

To be more specific, and to your question, you fill the GEOWEB with gravel and it makes a stable surface for vehicles to drive on. Cool product.

Built one with limestone just had it dumped by the lake and pushed it in with front end loader it has hled put great and we launch a 24 ft boatright which is a heavy aluminum boat.
