Finally got around to building a platform for my blind

Wish I would have done this years ago.

How high off the ground? I am going to build one for mine just trying to decide how high.

Looks like you did a great job. What was the size of the platform itself? Are you happy with that size now that you have your blind on top of it? How high?

I built one like that except I ended up making it 6' off the ground and I went ahead and built the box and put a top on it. Yours looks very sturdy. Best of luck hunting out of it this season.

It's 4' tall 6' X 8' platform. I was going to do a 6' X 6' platform. But I'm glad I made it bigger. Nice to have the extra room on the end when you get in & out of the door. But If you are going to have the door in the floor just make the platform a little bigger then your blind floor. Make sure you can get the hub tie offs out away from the blind to keep the hubs from collapsing. I cut some PVC that I painted black & mounted to the platform so I could stick tree branches around the blind. Worked great.

Sounds good and solid. I ended up making my floor 5' wide by 6' deep so I could pull my bow without hitting my elbow on the back. The pvc idea really sounds good, might have to try that on my blind. Did you end up putting a door in the floor (trap door) or do you just climb in from the pop-up door?

I didn't put the door in the floor. But If I build another I will probably do that.
