Sept 23. 9 am to Noon at McCord Park. Open to all area residents as well. Youth is defined as 16 and under. Pond was stocked with 500 lbs. of Channel Catfish. Prizes and trophies for 1st and 2nd in three age groups will be awarded as well as randomly drawn prizes throughout the event. There will be a shuttle from the parking lot to the pond or you can walk. It's a bit far.
Those without or with older children, are also "invited" to volunteer(my regular help thinks dove hunting is more important) helping with passing out poles, baiting hooks, measuring fish and etc...
This is an annual event and always well attended. So bring your kids, (get em off their phones and outta bed) their poles and have a nice family outing. Awards program to be held shortly after the event wraps up and fish are all measured.
Here's a recent winner with their family stringer. (Limit is 5 by the way)
