I just recently bought a gravely 52" ZT HD and its a great mower, but I will tell you that I would seriously look at Ferris mowers... They have full suspension and cut at 10mph versus the 7-8 mph the gravely will. My BIL has the Ferris and I've used it multiple times before I bought my mower. The suspension is awesome and really saves your back if you're mowing quite a bit of land.

I'll be welding it all back together for him as soon as I get off my TA. Pitiful dealer network and customer service.
Crappy dealer. Hustler is going to repaint mine under warranty due to paint flaking off.

We are a dealer for Gravely mowers and sell a bunch of them! There are several great mowers out there. Next in line to be would not be the Bad Boy though. Gravely has been in business for over 100 years and has an awesome track record. Four of my close family members have purchased the HD series from me this year. 2 in 52" and 2 in 60". I really feel the HD is about as much more you can get for around $5K!

Hey since you know about them.....I'm looking at the Gravely ZTX52. I just need it to mow an acre. It has good reviews. What do you think about it?

I just went thru all that and it can be mind numbing comparing all the different mowers. I ended up with a Scag Tiger CatII 61". If it last as long as the previous Scag I traded, It may be the last mower I ever buy, and I'm 48. If you figure cost per year, and how long each will last, they all cost about the same.

Don't overlook a Gravely with a Kohler engine. I talked to three dealers around the Austin area when shopping, and all three said they have a lot more Kaw engines come in for repairs than the new Kohlers. They also said the Kaws are more expensive to work on. I was set on a Kaw, but ended up with a Gravely with a Kohler which saved me a little money as well. Runs smooth as butter.
Adding to what I said, this may have only been the case for the mower I was looking at (42" cut). The bigger mowers have a different Kaw engine in them than the smaller ones, and those engines may have a better reputation.Last edited by 44mAG; 09-20-2017, 08:59 AM.

To the OP, go drive both of them and see what you think. I chose Gravely because I felt the Bad Boy's hydraulics felt spongy compared to the Gravely. Also, the Gravely I bought has a full suspension seat. If you are not in a hurry, wait for the clearance ones. Mine was about $2500 off due to being "last years model".
