    I feel like an idiot

So I got frustrated with myself last year and put the bow down. After missing a doe, and hitting a buck terribly (top of shoulder), I was mad at myself, and since I now have a lease that allows rifles, I switched to guns for the remainder of the season. I hadn't picked it back up until a few weeks ago, and thought I would be able to just pick it up and be shooting fairly decent in a session or two, but no such luck. I was all over the place, even missing the target a time or two from 20 yards! This morning, I decided to dial my draw weight down a few lbs and see if that helped..... it did, a little, but not where I wanted it to be, then it dawned on me that I was having trouble timing my shots, why isn't my Carter Chocolate Addiction during on command? Guess my wrist got fatter or something, because I had tied a wrist sling to my release to keep me from dropping it after a shot when I first bought it a few years back. It just hangs around my wrist like the wrist strap on your bow, but ther only place to attach it is through a hole in the cocking lever. Apparently, now, that strap around my wrist was keeping pressure on the cocking lever and not allowing the release to fire. I'm still not back to 100% like I want, but holy crap, I can group arrows again!

Now, time to broadhead tune since I jacked with the limb bolts.

Glad you didn't give up on archery for good and that you found your problem, it could have been happening last year and why you made the bad shots on those deer.

Keep on keepin on. No matter the harvesting tool...practice required.

If any comfort...I strung a longbow backwards and blamed it on the string until the GS directed me. I gave up on shooting gloves until I realized I was wearing them backwards.

        Live and learn.

I look forward to your LDPs

I would check your limbs too, you might have a crack. same thing happen to my buddy.

we could not get it to shoot straight, ends up he had a crack in one of his limbs.

Yep, I'm back to grouping pretty well. Not where I was a few years ago, but I may never get back there. I got stupid and sold that bow thinking I needed more speed. I was shooting 70 yards on my 3D target and flat wore the heart out of it from 70. I figured, long range practice makes short range hunting shots easy.

I'm back to shooting good enough today that I need to stop shooting groups before I destroy more arrows (need to order more anyway though), and believe it or not, the broadheads are still hitting with the field points..... at 20 anyway. I'll try some longer range shots this evening, it's starting to get pretty warm and my shooting muscles are out of shape.
