He weighed right at 200 field dressed. I'm going to score him in the morning I'm thinking low to mid 140s

It was a pretty cool hunt. Up where I live we hunt 95 percent of the time out of treestnds. But I had this buck patterned and the only real place to get a shot at him was in a cedar thicket between there bedding area and the crop fields. I setup a ground blind and I shot him at 8 yards. It's only the second deer I've ever killed off the ground in Missouri. He literally looked like a horse that close and eye level. And one bad thing about it you only get one archery buck tag in Missouri now and I have several good mature bucks on camera. Hopefully they are still around come rifle season. I'm going to try to stick a few does with my recurve until then.

What part of Missouri are you in. I just got back from the Rolla are this past march and am going to miss the hunting up there.

I live in potosi no which is about an hour from Rolla. I killed this deer about twenty minutes from my house on a lease I have. I mainly hunt in northern Missouri but there's good deer all over the state.
