Thats all I have left before I go on vacation and go on my bear hunt in Idaho. Outfitter said the fires are away from our area and very active. Taking my Elite Tempo and slick trick ss's (standard diameter), also taking my Weatherby Mark V Accumark in 6.5-300 Wby Mag.

Where at in Idaho? I just got back from the Bitterroot. I've been 3 times now when there were fires all around us, but this was the only year I've ever seen them setting up fire camps everywhere. It seemed to be much worse than I've seen before. The Lolo fire was a big one, but there are quite a few around. MT is burning up.

We were getting plenty of smoke from your direction. We were staying where the Clearwater met the Selway. I've seen some **** nice beats taken out of that area, and seen plenty more. This year I just went to toss some flies, and get away. Caught some gorgeous Cutties, and tons of Bulls. Rainbows were few and far between. Also the first year I haven't seen a bear while there. We did see plenty of Elk and deer, and even a couple of young Bighorn rams.

If you've never been up there check it out with a guide this year. It's an excellent DIY region, and has a very high success rate if you're dedicated and know what you're doing. I can shoot you some info if you'd like. I've been going for a few years now, but I'm far more interested in the fly fishing than the hunting. My last year hunting I didn't even bring out a rifle or bow, even though I had my license and saw several bears.
