Well I know some folks have done it before and many have asked, so here is my take on kayaking for ducks in the Coastal Bend.
Me and Joe (Kayak fishing buddy of mine and the picture taker supreme of all these shots) went over to Baffin bay Thrusday morning to see with this hunting ducks out of plastic boats was worth while. If it hadn't been for Joe's compass we would of been really screwed. it was THICK

Thick though it was Joe busted a goose that got away and I got a Gadwall for our efforts.
After the fog cleared and I saw how far down the shoreline from where I wanted to be we were, and Pintails ingoring us, I told Joe we ought to head in eat then try the afternoon.

For those that question using a yak, we used Native watercraft's Magic 14.5 with rudders. I tried my Magic opening weekend w/o a rudder and holy crap it wasn't fun in wind  I had about 4 dozen decoys and three mats of Fastgrass (four that afternoon hunt) on the yak plus shotgun, 2 boxes of shells and a dry bag with emergency stuff plus life jacket. For those who are crying "Where's the life jacket!!!!" please understand that we were in water less than a paddle blade long, if you tipped then stand up moron
SO some action that morning but not much, me and Joe get something to eat and head to another spot and see where the birds want to be and set up

Here we got 2 pintail hens, 1 redhead and a greenwing teal

Me trying to kill something

Magic all grassed in and ready to go

Getting my teal

Pintail Hens coming in

All in all a Great day, if you got questions about grassing up a yak and how we did it post up. Also Thanks Joe for bringing da camera
