    Mounts in flood

I have 2 WT shoulder mounts, a Blackbuck shoulder mount, a couple euros and a full body Badger that were lost in the Harvey Flood. Are these salvageable in any way? New capes, etc? Yes, they're covered in mold.

    Thanks.

Would have to think you will just have to remount the antlers on new forms/capes. The badger is just gone....

The whitetails and blackbuck can easily be remounted.
      The euros can be cleaned.
The badger, may be salvageable, if it was tanned correctly.

What do I need to do with them until I can get them to someone?

I would think freezing would stop the molding if that would be do-able.

****, OP... I know in the grand scheme of things that losing trophy mounts may seem insignificant to some but I can't help but feel terrible for ya. As hunters we all work so hard and spend so much time, effort, and money to obtain them.

If you're going to remount the shoulder mounts, cut the stitching, on the back of the head until you get to the skull plate. Unscrew it and separate the antlers from the form. Chunk the form and cape.

If the euros were done right, you should be able to just wash them in the sink, with dish soap and a tooth brush.

I feel for you man... My personal best was laying face first in the water in my living room... had him on a awesome pedestal and everything. I'm just cutting my horns off of mine though.
