This fall is going to be a first for me

Decided not to bow hunt during October. I've always heard how good the fishing can be during this time. Since I haven't done much to get ready for hunting season with a new baby and all I decided I'm just going to stick to fishing till the cold weather gets here. Will pick up the boom sticks and put some venison and ducks in the freezer at one point.

We'll see how it goes...lol

Normally I do as well, but my bow hasn't been out of the case since last season and I need a new target so unless something changes I'm out for this bow season.

Lol. Exactly same thing here. I actually said I was gonna take off hunting this season to fish and catch up on jobs. Nope, can't do it. In my DNA I guess.

I have always wanted to do this as well. I never have.

Once the first few cool fronts come through, I'm in hunting mode. But I know the fishing is great.

But I don't know if I will ever pick up a rifle to shoot a deer again.

Yes sir! I was the guy that hauled the boat to the deer lease. Hunt the am, fish mid day, hunt the evening then blowfish after dark. Good times!!!!

One of my favorite seasons was when I shot my target buck the second evening of October. I fished through November and shot a couple does in December. The bass fishing was great.
