    Cost of tree removal??? Suggestions

My mom lost two oak trees during Harvey and lives in Huntsville TX. I cut those two oaks up for her but she has 3 trees leaning over her house and is worried they will eventually fall. What is a fair amount to have someone come cut down these trees??? We will be keeping the wood bc they are oaks and my step dad purchased a log splitter before he passed away. Here are the three trees. What would be any other options as far as getting them down? Would renting the equipment and doing it myself be more cost effective? Suggestions???

Well, we are not paying someone an arm and a leg to cut down 3 trees.... lol. But I have I have no idea what it would cost either.

Many times your home insurance will pay to have dangerous trees removed. May check with them first.

I paid $600 a tree for cutting down and grinding the stump. The two trees were 40' pines in the Katy area. Be sure they are insured in the event they accidentally drop it on the house. The guy I used was insured and cracked my driveway when about 15' fell on the drive and not in the yard. He made it right and replaced the panel section of driveway. I would also consider off peak landscaping times. The crews are looking for work during the late fall and winter. They may be able to cut you a better deal. Some other quotes were around $900 and $750.

I tried this after Ike on a tree that got topped, but State farm wouldn't cover it. Worth a try though!

I'm a tree guy in BCS. I'm on state active duty with guard unit. You can rent a lift for like 300$ they go 30-35ft redtail in CSTAT pull behind your pick up . Rent on a Saturday and sundays are free since they're closed. Wish I could help [emoji1303]

That's not too bad I guess. May just have the one in the back yard taken out and I'll worry about the other two.

Yep. I once paid $1,200 for a 40 year old oak to be taken down

After almost having a stroke from some of the quotes from tree services, I rented a 40 ft lift from home depot for $250. I took down a huge Ash tree that was handing over the house. Had it on the gound in less than an hour and sent the rest of the time trimming my other trees.
