I drove by the Gander Mtn in North Fort Worth. I understand they didn't do a very good job with their business model. But it's still sad to see an outfitter close their doors.

Just a reminder of how tough retail stores are in todays online buyer's market.

They priced themselves out of business. Even in our small market in BCS the smaller locals were normally lower priced than Gander. The only time Gander beat them or equaled was when they had an extreme sale.

Our was a Sportsman Warehouse which closed then Gander came in. Only time I bought anything there was when they had a sale on something I wanted.

Was never much of a fan of Gander because of the pricing. Always seemed just a bit higher.

Gander didn't do anything during liquidation because they were no longer in existence. The liquidating company that owned the merch tried to "screw you over."

I agree with all of you. My thoughts are with hunting, fishing and outdoors related. I just don't want to see people that support us going out of business. How is Sportman's Warehouse lately???
ps. I agree I never spent one penny in there, cept they had a great deal on an XD .45 but I couldn't get anyone to come show it too me. Went to local gs and paid $30 more.
