Floating fire ants and what to do about them

Link to Huge Floating Mass of Fireants

I love this from the article!

Fire ant rafts do have a kryptonite: dish soap. “Dawn is a not a registered insecticide, but it will break up the surface tension and they will sink,” says Bui.

I am partial to a burning plastic milk jug. Love the noise.

Mix up some dawn and warm water and spray down the floating colony the dawn will breakup the waxy coating ants have and they will sink. I saw some biologist do this years ago in a flood zone they were doing studies at.

Catch coons and throw into the rafts?
