Looking for advice from TBHers in Austin

Wife and I are having our 26th year anniversary this coming November and we are looking for a nice hotel in Austin to spend a weekend. We dont drink but do enjoy music. Anyone know of a place we can listen to some music and maybe even dance in the same hotel? Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thnx

    Hotel San Jose or Driskill.

Would stay far, far away from the Driskill unless 6th street sounds fun to you.

A hotel where you can listen to music is incompatible with the idea that most hotels are quiet places to relax and rest. If the music can be somewhere else, I hear the Archer hotel at The Domain is very nice. I have not been there. The Domain itself is a great place to hang out, eat, and yes, they have music (dunno about dancing).

Some of these aren't walking distance but we have Uber and LYfte here. The Driskill. Stephen F. Austin. Hotel San Jose. Hotel St. Cecilia.

STAY AWAY FROM ANY PORTION OF 5TH, 6TH OR 7TH STREET THAT IS EAST OF THE STEPHEN F.

Nothing good happens there. Well, unless you think robbery, theft and assault are good. That portion of 6th has been has been coopted by people the live outside Austin. Think people that own The Fast and the Furious Series on DVD, have neck tattoos and wear oversized t-shirts.

Hotel San Jose ALL DAY LONG!! Far enough away from dirty 6, and close enough to music and next to Joes Coffee. My father stays there and was impressed.

Ben, let's go to the ranch. You and the wife can stay in my cabin. And I'll sing songs for you both all night long.

Where and how you been? You been out to the ranch? Keep in touch.
