    Guns that get submerged

    Can my guns be salvaged after being submerged for a week? I sure hope so, if not this sucks. Man, this crap sux. It looks like everything is going to be submerged.

    Take the stocks off and soak the metal in diesel until you can get to a gunsmith. Once it hits air it will start rusting.

      I've been contemplating your situation all day long & had been waiting for this thread...I simply cannot fathom what folks are going through. Not just guns, but photos & other sentimental items that cannot be replaced.

      Just makes me sad & wish I had answers when I don't think there aren't any good ones. I hope you can salvage & they are functionally safe friend.

        Thank you, I'm hoping I can salvage alot of things. All we can do is pray.

          I was also told if your pictures got wet don't try to fool with them. Put them like they are in a frost free freezer and forget about them. The freezer will dry them and after some time you can take them out to be scanned and reprinted.
