I recently purchased a ranch and did some trading for a couple of heifers. Checked on them today and noticed they had quite a few flies on them. I'm only planning on having a few head mainly as a hobby, but I'd like to take care of them the best I can. I do not have a squeeze chute so eat tagging them for flies is nearly impossible. I was thinking about building some back rub oilers.... but what exactly do I use in them? Can I make them wick from a jug so I don't have to wet them as often?

When I need to treat mine with ivomec pour on I will feed them some cubes in a line on ground. Then measure out and pour into solo cub or can with top cut off and just throw it on their backs. If its just flies your worried about you can get pesticide and spray them or they make mineral that will pass through them and not allow the fly eggs to hatch in the cow poo.
