Mine is ready to go. I don't anticipate using it (I hope not anyways) but I won't put gas through it until it needs to be. They gum up real quick. When I am done with a job, I run it dry and keep cranking until there is nothing in it. The chain is sharp, got a full bottle of bar oil and a gallon of premixed gas though. I had to clear some dead fall a couple weeks ago, so I know I'm good.

If it ever gets hard to start run some mechanic in a bottle right from the bottle or pour it in the tank give it a few pulls til it gets in the carb and wants to start then just let it sit for awhile 30 mins to overnight it will dissolve the gummed up varnish.
